Panhellenic General Aviation Championship 2021, Tatoi, 12-13 /2/2022

The postponed Pan-Hellenic General Aviation Championship 2021

took place at Dekelia Air Base in Tatoi, 12-13th February 2022.

Participation

32 crews from 16 Aeroclubs participated in the championship (Athens Aeroclub, Attica, Aeroclub , Geraneion Aeroclub , Dekelia Aeroclub , Thessaloniki Aeroclub , Mesogeion Aeroclub , Messolongi Aeroclub , Patra Aeroclub , Petakas Aeroclub , Preveza Aeroclub , TALOS Heraklion Aeroclub , Tatoi Aeroclub , Faethon Aeroclub , Zakynthos Aeroclub , Magnesia Air Sports Association and Cretan Aeroclub).

Regulations

The championship was held in accordance with the National Racing Regulations GA of ELAO titled: "Timed Cycle and Precision Landing" . The championship started on Saturday 12/2/2022 at 09:00 local time and 1 round was coompleted according to the program of the regulations. The round, due to bad weather forecast for Sunday, ended on Saturday at 17:00.

The first three places were as follows

1st place crew Frangopanagos Christos-Sinanis Sotiris (Dekelias Αeroclub)

2nd place crew Kapakas Konstantinos-Ioannidis Stefanos (Attica Aeroclub)

3rd place crew Tsopelas Ilias-Tsopela Stavroula (Mesogeion Aeroclub)

Director of Competition, Hellenic Judicial Committee and Judges

The director of competition was Mr. Samprakos Nikolaos, President of GA Commission. The Hellenic Judicial Committee consisted of Mr. Benekos Georgios (chairman), Mr. Trantos Konstantinos and Mr. Methenitis Georgios (members). The Judges were Mr. Katiniotis Vassilis, Mr. Paschaloudis Paschalis and Mr. Agadakos Panagiotis.

Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremony was held on Sunday 13/2/2022 outside the offices of ELAO.

Cups were awarded to the first 3 in the category and certificates for participation were given to all air athletes.

ELAO had the honor of having guests for awarding the cups to the winners as follows:

-The Olympian of classic wrestling, Mr. GALAKTOPOULOS Petros.

-The Chairman of the Board of the Municipality of Malevizi, Mr. KALLERGIS Spyridon.

-The General Secretary of the Judicial Committee, Mr. LEONTARITIS Alexandros.

During the awards, Mr. Gritsis Ioannis presented ELAO with an oil painting he created. The oil painting depicts the historic plane with the first Greek register, SX-AAA, which made its maiden flight from Tatoi with pilot Stefanos Tsikaliotis. At the same time, the monument for the pilot was moved next to ELAO offices.

On the left, the President of ELAO Mr. Makrakis with the oil painting, next to him the Olympian Mr. Galaktopoulos and in the middle the creator of the painting Mr. Gritsis. Next to him is the Championship Director Mr. Samprakos, then the Secretary of the GA committee Mr. Skarmintzos and on the right the Secretary of ELAO Ms. Ikonomopoulou.
