The Sport of General Aviation, offers the opportunity to fans of aircraft and flight, to engage in Air Sports. 

All International Activities related to General Aviation , such as championships, competitions, records, etc., are conducted under the direction of the FAI General Aviation Commission (GAC).

According to the FAI General Code of Athletics, General Aviation competitions involve "C" category airplanes as well as "H" category Vertical Take-off & Landing Aircraft. General Aviation competitions are governed by International (FAI) or National (NAC) regulations, depending on the event.

The crews of the planes are consisted of two (2) people, of which only one, the Commander, is required to hold a pilot's degree, thus giving the general public the opportunity to engage in the sport.
